Footloose (Western Solo Dance)

Event Guidelines:

  • Eligibility – 16-27 years (open event)
  • The duration of each performance should be 2.5 minutes (minimum) to 4 (max). Upto 3 points will be deducted for not adhering to it.
  • The total performance duration should not exceed the time limit. You will be provided with a total of 1 minute for both setup and windup inclusive.
  • The use of props is permitted but will not be given extra points.
  • Usage of fire and profanity in clothing will be strictly prohibited. Ensure wearing appropriate costumes in order to avoid wardrobe malfunction on stage. Wardrobe malfunction includes exposing nipples and flashing on stage. Failure to adhere to this will lead to 3 points deduction.
  • The audios should not contain any abusive words. Failure to do so will lead to a 2 points deduction.
  • Not clearing up the stage post performance will lead to a 2 points deduction.
  • All dancers must incorporate at least 1.5 minutes of original choreography.
  • The performer is allowed to use as many songs as they want to, within the time limit. However, participants are required to incorporate songs from any two of the three given languages in their performance:
  • English
  • Hindi
  • Any other Regional song

Audios of the final performance by each team have to be submitted to danceclub@flame.edu.in 48 hours prior to the event. Please rename the audio file in this format: Footloose 2026_Full Name. Any delay will result in a deduction of points. (2 points will be deducted for each day).

Cash prize:

Winner: 2000/-

First Runner Up: 1200/-

Second Runner Up: 800/-

Format for Deciding Winner and Runner-up for Solo:

  • A dance battle will be held among the top four participants to determine the overall champion and runner-up of the competition.
  • Each battle will consist of 30-second performances for each participant. Participants will have an equal opportunity to showcase their skills during their respective segments.
  • The winner of each battle (1 & 3 and 2 & 4) will be determined by a panel of judges. The winners will then face off in the final battle for the title of Champion and
  • Runner-Up.
