CATEGORY: Team Male & Female

DESCRIPTION: The Volleyball Tournament will be organised as part of Kurukshetra 2026 and will comprise of league matches conducted in accordance with official volleyball regulations. Referees will officiate all matches to ensure adherence to safety and fairness standards.

DURATION: 2 days

 

Tournament Format

  • Format: League
  • Match Duration: 45 – 50 minutes (inclusive of time outs)
  • Team Size: 12 (6 players + 6 reserves)

⁠Registration Details

  • Registration Fee (Per Team):
    Men: Rs 2,600
    Women: Rs 2000
  • Last Date for Registration:
  • Note – All registration fees are NON – REFUNDABLE
  • Registration Fees must be paid before the start of the tournament. Player(s) will not be allowed to play unless they have paid the entire registration fee.
  • No on-the-spot payment will be allowed.

 

Prize Structure

  • Winners Prize:
    Mens: 1st Prize – Rs 12,500, 2nd Prize – Rs 7,500 and 3rd Prize – Rs 2,500
    Womens: 1st Prize – Rs 10,000, 2nd Prize – Rs 6,000 and 3rd Prize – Rs 2,500
  • Special Awards: None

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open To: Open to colleges only
  • ID Card Requirement: If representing a college then Student College ID and Bonafide Certificate needed.
  • Age Restrictions: 17 – 25 years
  • Players must represent undergraduate or postgraduate level collegiate institutions.

⁠Match Rules

  • Governing Rulebook Followed: All Standard FIVB rules will be followed.

Key Rules:

  1. Each game will be a best of 3 sets where the first 2 sets will be for 25 points and the last set will be for 15 points for both the teams.
  2. The matches will be league games- there will be pools and the top team will qualify for the knockout rounds.
  3. Rotation is compulsory.
  4. One sub for one player. The same sub cannot be used to sub out another player.
  5. Number of timeouts: the regulation allows requesting two timeouts per set to each team, with a duration of 30s.

Rules Regarding Documents

  1.  If any player is identified as not an active member of the participating organization/institute, the player/team will immediately be disqualified from the tournament.
  2. Forging identity cards or tampering with college property will lead to the player (s’) suspension from the tournament.
  3. Each player is expected to present his/her college identification/age proof on each day of the tournament. Without an ID on any day, the player will not be allowed to play his/her match.
  4. Fixtures will be sent on time and are subject to change under the jurisdiction of the committee.

⁠Conduct & Discipline

  • Reporting Time & Late Entry Rules: Each team should report 30 mins before their match. Any team showing up 10 mins late after the start time, the opponent team will be given a walkover.
  • After the match, the court needs to be evacuated within 10 minutes
  • No dissent by word or action will be tolerated against anyone.
  • Permitted/Prohibited Behaviour: If the player is found to be in inappropriate attire, he/she will NOT be allowed to play.
  • Warning, Penalty & Disqualification Criteria: No player can participate from two teams. Should this occur, it would lead to the disqualification of both teams.
  • Any physical fight or infringement against any opponents, referees, or committee members will result in a direct disqualification for the player(s) found guilty. The following acts of players, substitutes and spectators are subject to sanction: –
    • Disrespectfully addressing an official.
    • Making any profane or vulgar remarks or acts.
    • Shouting, yelling, or creating noise in a manner that distracts an opponent who is in play.
    • Shouting or taking any action conducive to distracting the officials’ judgment.
    • Being in possession of all contraband deemed illegal by FLAME University.

⁠Equipment & Facilities

  • Ball size – Size 5 (boys), Size 5 (girls)
  • Provided by FLAME Kurukshetra Organising Committee: FLAME Kurukshetra will provide match balls.
  • To Be Brought by Participants: Each team has to get their personal kits.
  • Gear Restrictions:
    – If the player is found to be in inappropriate attire, he/she will NOT be allowed to play.
    Non-Marking Shoes are compulsory

Refereeing & Decision Protocol

  • Match Officials Present: Refirees
  • Dispute Procedure: Referee’s decision is final.
  • Finality Clause: All decisions by the officials and FLAME Kurukshetra organising committee are final.
  • The FLAME Kurukshetra organizing committee shall, in conjunction with the Referees, issue any instructions necessitated by special circumstances that may arise during the tournament.

⁠Medical & Safety Guidelines

  • On-Site Medical Support: A basic Medical Kit will be available on the ground during the match at all times. Infirmary and Ambulance services are available in case of severe injuries.
