The Official Jersey Unveiling Marks the Beginning of Kurukshetra 2025 at FLAME University
November 23rd, 2024 was the day FLAME University athletes felt the pulse of Kurukshetra in their veins, a day when dreams, sweat, and pride were stitched into the very fabric they would wear on the field, court, track, and beyond. The annual Jersey Unveiling for Kurukshetra is a ritual and marker of the commitment that each sportsperson brings to their discipline, as the identity of the year’s edition of India’s most awaited intercollegiate sports festival come alive. And the anticipation had been brewing for weeks now.
The unveiling took place in the Chandragupta Amphitheatre which was transformed for the occasion into a vibrant arena of sports culture and excitement. Cricket, basketball, football, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, swimming, hill run, chess, snooker, squash, athletics, handball, e-sports, yoga, badminton, zumba, and frisbee—each sport had its representatives, each waiting for the moment when their individual and team identities would be formally recognized, immortalized in the jersey they would don for the competition.
The event began with a thrilling dance performance by the FLAME Dance Club, followed by the handover of the Kurukshetra flag by Prof. Mahdi Soleimani Farrokh, who is the Director of Sports to the Chairperson of Kurukshetra. The mood shifted once again, this time into a display of strength, discipline, and agility. The FLAME Martial Arts Club took the stage, performing a showcase that blended multiple martial arts styles into a seamless, high-energy demonstration. The applause that followed the martial arts showcase carried through the amphitheatre, setting the stage for the moment everyone had been waiting for: the jersey unveiling.
After screening the jersey unveiling video, building up the anticipation among students, the jersey was unveiled in a dramatic flair.
The fashion show for Kurukshetra 2025 jerseys began, a carefully choreographed parade of style, colour, and symbolism. As the fashion show concluded, the Zumba Club took the stage, adding a final burst of high-energy movement to transition the audience from spectacle to personal recognition.
Finally, the moment that every athlete had been waiting for arrived. After a short speech by Prof. Farrokh and Prof. Vahideh Razmi, the Director of Student Activities, each player, one by one, was handed their jersey The handovers were met with cheers, laughter, and the occasional emotional moment as there were many first-time participants who were chosen to represent FLAME on such a large scale.
