CATEGORY: Individual.

DESCRIPTION: This will be a Rapid Individual, Mixed Gender Tournament with the time format of 15 min + 5 sec.

Participants are expected to maintain decorum whilst the events are being held.
No audience is allowed into the room while a round is going on.
The surroundings and environment provided to the participants during the tournament will be clean and silent.

Tournament Format:

Format: Rapid, Swiss League Format

Time Control: 15 | 5

Number of rounds: 6 rounds

DURATION:

One full day tournament.

REGISTRATION DETAILS:
Registration Fees (Per participant) – ₹400 (including 18% GST)

Note – All registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.

PRIZE STRUCTURE:

• 1st place – ₹6,000 + medal and certificate
• 2nd place – ₹4,000 + medal and certificate
• 3rd place – ₹2,000 + medal and certificate

*All participants will receive an online certificate.

Winners will be provided with a physical certificate and a medal. All participants will receive an online certificate.

Rules Regarding Documents:

• Participants are expected to present their age proof on the day of the tournament.
• Not bringing or not presenting an ID before the match will lead to disabling the participant from participating.
• If a participant fails to show the above-mentioned requirements, they will not be allowed to participate.
• Pairings will be sent before each round and will not change.

Match Rules:

ALL LATEST FIDE RULES WILL BE APPLIED TO THIS TOURNAMENT

The Chief Arbiter’s decision will remain final and binding.

All other FIDE rules will apply, under the jurisdiction of the Arbiter.

For this competition, tied participants shall be ranked by the application of the following tie-breaking procedures in sequence, to the extent required:

1.Buchholz Cut 1

2.Buchholz

3.Sonneborn-Berger

4.Direct encounter

5.The greater number of wins including forfeits

6.Number of wins with Black pieces

• Entry fees is NON REFUNDABLE.
• It is mandatory for participants to attend the players’ meet which would be hosted on the same day of the tournament, before the first round.
• The hosts of the tournament reserve the rights to admit or refuse any entry without providing reason. The hosts also reserve rights of admission to the venue.
• There will be a warning issued to the player if an illegal move is committed, post which another illegal move will cause forfeiture of the player from the game.
• Use of mobile phones or other electronic devices during the course of the game will result in an immediate forfeiture of the round.
• Players do not need to write their game down. However, if they personally wish to do so, they may, but only after showing the moves sheet to the arbiter.
• In case a player does not show up within 5 minutes from the start of the round, it will result in an immediate walkover.

Conduct and Discipline

Reporting Time & Late Entry Rules

Participants should reach the venue a minimum of 30 minutes before the commencement of the tournament. Participants are strictly prohibited from bringing any contraband into FLAME premises. The following is a list of items that are prohibited:

• Cigarettes / e-cigarettes / vapes
• Alcohol
• Lighters
• Condoms
• Switchblades / pocket knives
• Non-vegetarian food

If any participant is caught with any of these items, they will be disqualified with immediate effect and would have to pay a fine which is as prescribed in the FLAME Student Handbook Guidelines.

Equipment and Facilities:

Provided by FLAME Kurukshetra Organizing Committee:

1.Chess Board and Pieces.

2.Chess Clocks.

3.Refreshments and water will be provided.

Refereeing and Decision Protocols:

Any kind of obscenity, vulgarity or misbehavior will not be tolerated and will lead to consequences of the discretion of the Arbiter.

In all cases, decisions made by the Arbiter will be Final and Binding.

Medical Safety and Guidelines:

First Aid Kit will be available at all times.
