Kalam Ki Kala

Guidelines

1. Only one poem is allowed per participant.

2. Eligibility- 16 – 24 years of age

3. Usage of AI and plagiarism is strictly prohibited, and will result in disqualification.

4. Late submissions will not be considered for the competition.

5. Pieces that contain sensitive themes are required to open with trigger/content warnings. This will not be considered within the line count.

6. References containing hate speech towards certain groups or communities (such as sexist, homophobic or racist remarks and so on), will be disqualified.

7. Usage of english swear words is prohibited, and will result in a 5 point deduction per word.

Mode of Event: Online

Poetry Submission

1. Each individual participant must submit an original poem, adhering to the prompt.

2. Minimum 20 lines, maximum of 40 lines.

3. Poems can follow any structure or rhyme scheme, and must be entirely in English

4. Submission deadline is on 19th January 2026, 12:00 PM.

5. The piece should be submitted as a PDF File and should be renamed as- Fullname_Kalam’25

6. Prompt:

“Shadow of Mine ” (open to creative interpretation)

Google Form:

All entries must be submitted via the official Google Form (Our Team will contact you and send mail for google form). Ensure that the participant’s name, institution, contact details, and photo descriptions are correctly filled in.

 

Criteria

  1. Incorporation and representation of prompt : 35%

  2. Use of language and poetic devices : 35%

  3. Flow, form and structure : 30%
